How to get WEC2013 BSP itself?

Jan 24, 2015 at 6:22 PM

I am probably missing something basic here, but I could not figure out how I could get the BSP itself. I want to experiment with and to learn WEC2013 on BBB instead of buying en eBox,, which is much expensiver than BBB, but comes with BSP. But I might change my mind if getting this BSP+BBB costs raise above the cost of eBox. I already have WEC PB (with eval code for now). And I know, that SDK is enough to develop applications on that specific platform.

So, my question is: what is the process to get the BSP and how much it costs for a stand-alone individual?

Just a note for anybody interested: WEC2013 Platform Builder Update 5 is installable on Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition, which makes learning embedded platform much accessible. Bravo, Microsoft!

I too am trying to figure out how to get the BBB BSP to show up when I create a new OS Design. Installing the SDK and using the default path settings didn't work. Reading some other posts, it looked like BSPs are supposed to be installed in the C:\WINCE800\Platform directory, which I tried as well, with no luck. Unless I misunderstood the purpose of this project, I thought part of it was accessibility to the BSP?

The source code for the WEC 7 BSP is available for download under the "Source Code" tab.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not able to access it on Codeplex. When I hit the source code section, it looks like its trying but nothing happens, I'll give it another shot.

Thank you, but I have found SRC folder under WINCE700 but not under WINCE800. Does this mean that there is BSP only for WinCE 7,but not for WinCE 2013?

I've got the source and have tried building a new image using WEC 2013. I got past a few compiler/linker errors but now I'm stuck on a few.

All the errors (so far) are in cpu.s

Error 2 error A2511: operand 4: Expected constant {log="C:\WINCE800\build.log(8239)"} C:\wince800\platform\am33x_bbb_bsp\src\csp\am33x\oal\cpuidle\cpu.s 202

Error 3 error A2502: operand 2: Expected register {log="C:\WINCE800\build.log(8241)"} C:\wince800\platform\am33x_bbb_bsp\src\csp\am33x\oal\cpuidle\cpu.s 233

Any pointers would be helpful

Looks you had downloaded Source code from WINCE700 and trying to compile on Compact 2013.

If so, then that will not work. You need to get the source code for Compact 2013 to compile it on CE 2013.

Best Regards.

As far as I can tell it looks like the author hasn't shared the sources for the WINCE800 / Compact 2013 image.
It's a pity but access to the 7.0 sources is nevertheless a fantastic thing ;-)
