Cannot get to boot from eMMC

description

I followed the directions on loading WEC2013 onto the eMMC. Everything seemed to worked except when I boot the device I get the following from the boot loader:

SD/eMMC X-Loader AM33X
Built Aug 2 2014 19:10:52
Version BSP_WINWEC8_ARM_A8 03.02.00.00
open ebootsd.nb0 file
eMMC reset
SDCARD:Reqested speed 1000000, actual speed 1000000
MMCIssueIdentify: eMMC HC detected
SDCARD:Using High Speed mode
SDCARD:Reqested speed 52000000, actual speed 48000000
read ebootsd.nb0 file

jumping to eboot

The device does not boot up WEC2013. If I boot from the SD card it works just fine.

Any help is much appreciated!

We have Revision B and C of beaglebone black here at work. The boot seems to be working only on revision B. We've never been able to boot from EMMC with a revision C. we have the exact same problem.

The eMMC part was changed on the Rev C boards.
A and B rev board have 2GB Micron eMMC flash.
On rev C boards the part was changed to 4GB eMMC and may be Micron or Kingston.

The demo image for WEC2013 was built before Rev C boards were available.

Is there a timeframe for when there may be another release which is compatible with the Rev C boards?

Temporarily, since we have some customers waiting in the pipeline for our product, while the Rev C problem is being corrected, we decided to remove the SD boot button on the board and solder the 4 pins all togheter with a little cable so the contact is permanently made. This way, reboot after reboot, it stays on the SD card. This is a temporary solution, it takes about 2 or 3 minutes per BBB, but it works so far. I hope this helps you a little while you wait for the modification :)
